Dhoni on Harbhajan’s Side in Slap Episode
Captain of ODI and twenty2o team, Mahender Singh Dhoni is the first member of Team India to speak on the Slap incident which happened after the Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians match in Mohali on Friday 26th April, 2008. Dhoni seem to be on the side of the spinner and thinks that Sreesanth provoked Harbhajan.
Harbhajan Singh have apologised to S Sreesanth for his actions. Later both players were quoted saying “it was a family matter which has been sorted”. IPL and BCCI took the matter seriously (may be to save its image)and suspended Hanbhajan Singh teporarily from IPL. Farukh Engineer is hearing from both Sreesanth and Harbhajan Singh. Some decesion on the matter is expected to be out in less than a 30 minutes from now.
Mahender Singh Dhoni wrote in his colum today in favor of Harbhajan Singh. He used the Zidane- Materazzi incident to support his statemt. He wrote, BBCI should look into the reasons for the incident.He said Harbhajan might have hit Sreesanth after being proviked by Sreesanth same as what happened during the footbal match when Materazzi said something about Zidane’s family which resulted in a headbutt from Zidane to Materazzi.
