Left Handers Ruling Indian Premier League(IPL)

Comparisons between left hander and right hander had always been there in cricket. The same story continues in Indian Premier League too. IPL have crossed the half way stage and left handers have been dominating till now. Leading run scorers, leading wicket takers, maximum catches, best batting average, maximum half centuries, maximum sixes and fours, all are left handed players.

Most Runs: Gautam Gambir and Adam Gilchrist are at number 1 and 2 respectively among the leading run scorers. Rohit Sharma from Hyderabad Deccan Chargers is a Right Handed batsman and is at number 3 amonth the leading run scorers. Gautam Gambhir has made 346 runs in 9 matches. Adam Gilchrist has made 308 runs in 9 matches. Rohit Sharma has made 296 runs in 9 matches.

Best Average: Three left handed batsmen are at the top in this list. Shaun March is at number 1 with an average of 98.33. Simon Katich is at 2nd position with an average of 96.00. Mike Hussey is at 3rd position with an average of 84. Fourth spot is reserved by a right handed batsman, Andrew Symonds with an average of 80.50.

Highest Score: Right Handed batsmen are dominating this table. Brandon McCullum of Kolkata Knight Riders is the leading batsmen among the highest run scorers in an innings. McCullum is leading with his innings of 158 (not out). Andrew Symonds follows him with a score of 117 (not out). Mike Hussey, the left handed batsman, is at 3rd spot with a high score of 116 (not out).

Maximum Sixes: David Hussey got past Adam Gilchrist during yesterday?s match against Delhi Daredevils. Hussey leads the table with 17 sixes in 9 matches. Adam Gilchrist has hit 16 sixes in 9 matches. Brendon McCullum is at third spot with 15 sixes in 4 matches.

Maximum Fours: Gautam Gambhir leads this table with 45 fours in 9 matches.
